French repair bonus: the amount for every appliance

Short answer

The French repair bonus ranges from 15 to 60 € depending on the appliance. It is taken straight off your invoice when you have an out-of-warranty appliance repaired by a QualiRépar certified professional. A washing machine or dishwasher is worth 50 €, a television 60 €, a vacuum cleaner 40 €, a fridge or an oven 25 €.

Funded by the eco-contribution you already pay when buying any electrical appliance, the repair bonus exists for a simple reason: when a repair costs almost as much as a cheap new appliance, most households give up and throw it away. Thirty to sixty euros off the invoice is often enough to tip the decision the right way.

There is no means test, no income cap and no paperwork to file. The only thing that depends on you is the choice of repairer: only they can apply the discount.

How it works, in three steps

  1. 1

Check the appliance is out of warranty

The bonus only applies after the warranty. If you've recorded your warranties in Delvyia, the end date is already in front of you.

  2. 2

    Choose a QualiRépar certified repairer

This is the only condition that depends on you. A repairer without the label, however good, cannot apply the bonus.

  3. 3

The bonus comes off the invoice

The repairer deducts it from the total and claims it back from the eco-organisation. You fill in nothing and pay nothing up front.

The conditions

  • The appliance is out of warranty (neither the 2-year statutory warranty, nor a manufacturer warranty or extension still running).
  • The repair is carried out by a professional holding the QualiRépar label. They deduct the bonus from your invoice: no paperwork, nothing to pay up front.
  • The fault isn't covered by an insurance policy or a service contract.
  • One bonus per appliance, per repair.

What is not covered

  • Purely cosmetic damage (a scratch, cracked plastic) that doesn't stop the appliance working.
  • Replacing a removable battery or a consumable (filter, bag, cartridge).
  • Faults caused by obvious misuse or lack of maintenance.
  • Routine servicing, and a diagnosis with no repair.

Finding a certified repairer

The QualiRépar label is awarded to professionals who commit to the quality of their repairs. Only they can apply the bonus. Around 4,000 establishments are certified across France, from independent tradespeople to national chains.

Frequently asked questions

Who is entitled to the repair bonus?

Anyone living in France, with no means test and no income cap. The only condition concerns the appliance: it must be out of warranty and repaired by a QualiRépar certified professional.

Do you have to pay up front and claim it back?

No. The repairer deducts the amount directly from your invoice total, then claims it back from the eco-organisation. You have no form to fill in and nothing to advance.

How do you know whether a repairer is QualiRépar certified?

The label is displayed in the shop and on the repairer's website. The official directory of certified professionals is available online, and Delvyia shows them on a map around your home.

Does the bonus work on a second-hand appliance?

Yes. The scheme is about the appliance, not its owner: what matters is that it is no longer covered by a statutory or manufacturer warranty, or an extension still running.

Can you claim several repair bonuses?

One bonus applies per appliance, per repair. Nothing stops you claiming for several different appliances, or having the same appliance repaired again later.

Are boilers and water heaters covered?

No. The repair bonus targets everyday electrical and electronic equipment. Heating and hot-water systems fall under other support schemes.

Can the bonus exceed the price of the repair?

No. The bonus is capped at the invoice total: a 20 € repair cannot attract a 25 € bonus. Some appliances also have a minimum invoice threshold before the bonus applies.

Know at a glance whether you qualify
